Kiah Roache-Turner and Tristan Roache-Turner, the minds behind Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead, have returned with Nekrotronic—another genre-bending mashup that looks like a blast of gory fun.
While Wyrmwood took place in the bush of an Australia on the brink of an undead apocalypse, Nekrotronic is set in a world not too different from our own. Okay, perhaps there are a few notable differences. Demons are real, they inhabit the internet, and they can get you through your phone.
As often happens in these stories, our lowly protagonist Howard discovers that he’s meant for greater things. In this case, greater things means getting people to break away from their phones—and the aforementioned demons, being led by Finnegan. You see, Howard is a Nekromancer. And Finnegan has taken to killing Nekromancers.
Finnegan and her demons have found a way to leverage the internet to gain control over the general public. It’s up to Howard and the remaining Nekromancers to put an end to Finnegan’s evil deeds before time runs out.
Wyrmwood was a great mix of horror, humor, and off-the-wall ideas. Nekrotronic appears to be another high-concept blend of action, laughs, and frights. Momentum Pictures is bringing Nekrotronic to select theaters and digitla HD on August 9th. Plug into the synopsis and trailer below.
Howard North, a down on his luck sewage worker, gets dragged into a global conflict between the Nekromancers, a family of badass demon hunters, and Finnegan (Monica Bellucci) – an evil demon who absorbs people’s souls to increase her power.
