Mike is at it again...

We had been told several months ago that the latest film in the Halloween franchise was going to be more of a “recalibration” than a reboot. Now, thanks to a scoop from Moviehole, we have some new juicy details on the return of Michael Myers.

Screenwriters Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan (FEAST, SAW IV-VII) recently shed some light on where they plan to take on taking the series. Check it out:

Halloween Returns” will pit a new group of Haddonfield youngsters against Myers. The now 18-year-old child of one of Myers’ victims plays a central role along with the child of a cop who has long been obsessed with Myers’ case, even putting it before his own daughter.

Myers is now on Death Row and the two kids with their own personal vendettas against the killer sneak in to watch his execution. But when things go awry and Myers escapes, the pair, along with their friends, find themselves in the firing line.

So yeah… that could actually be cool. A film with a unique story line, but takes place several years after the original killing spree. The Halloween franchise has always been notorious for multiple timelines, so fuck it, how much harm can one more do?

I look forward to seeing one of my favorite films of all time get another whack at the big screen. Mike has to be getting old though, so let’s hope this is your average group of slow witted teenagers with their heads buried in their phones. Otherwise…he doesn’t stand a chance.
