Immortality may seem cool, but REALIVE uncovers its dark side.

Director and Writer, Mateo Gil knows how to get you thinking about life and death. The Spanish film-maker behind such features as Vanilla Sky, The Sea Inside and Open your Eyes has a keen sense of the human condition. His films tend to examine how each of us chooses to ignore, avoid or accept the ticking clock of life and our eventual end. He’s now added Realive to that roster of mind-benders and its landing at SyFy.

Waking up in theaters on September 29 and on VOD and Digital HD on October 3, the film stars Tom Hughes (About Time, London Town), Charlotte Le Bon (The Walk), Oona Chaplin (Taboo, Game of Thrones) and Barry Ward (The Fall).

Fantasia Film Festival-goers may remember REALIVE from its 2016 premiere at the well-known Montreal gathering. It also was an official selection at the FrightFest Film Festival in the U.K. and the Sitges International Film Festival in Spain.

Stay tuned for more on REALIVE but remember, all good things, including this post, must come to an end.

Marc Jarvis (Tom Hughes) is diagnosed with a disease and given a short time to live. Unable to accept his own end, he decides to freeze his body. 60 years later, in the year 2084, he becomes the first cryogenically frozen man to be revived in history. Marc discovers a startling future, but the biggest surprise is that his past has accompanied him in unexpected ways.
