... but not THAT alien movie.

The name Ridley Scott and the word “alien” are nearly synonymous with one another. The man could easily be seen as the Grandfather of Horror/SciFi as we know it, and lucky for us, it seems like Scott is embracing and supporting his roots now more than ever. While we’re all aware of the upcoming Alien: Covenant, I bet most of you are slightly less familiar with a new Found Footage alien flick called PHOENIX FORGOTTEN.

In what can best be described as “Blair Witch with aliens” (a theory that I think holds water in the latest Blair Witch film itself), PHOENIX FORGOTTEN is not only backed by Ridley Scott as an Executive Producer, but it’s written by the fella behind The Maze Runner and Pacific Rim: Uprising (T.S. Nowlin).

Only time will tell if this small-scale alien flick will live up to the names that are associated with it, but we won’t have to wait much longer to find out. PHOENIX FORGOTTEN will be hitting limited theaters and VOD platforms on April 21st. Check out the official plot synopsis and, surprisingly spoiler-free, trailer below.

20 years after three teenagers disappeared in the wake of mysterious lights appearing above Phoenix, Arizona, unseen footage from that night has been discovered, chronicling the final hours of their fateful expedition.
