The line in the title above, spoken by Jeff Bridges, perfectly sums up Bad Times at the El Royale. It looks like a fever dream with bold, stylistic colors and a unique premise where seven strangers meet at the rundown hotel. Each has a secret, and a shot at redemption, before things get weird. And it looks like a lot of shit goes down.

Bad Times at the El Royale looks like a cross between a thriller and a genre action flick with hefty mythology behind it. It’s the latest from writer-director Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods, The Martin), and it looks just as exciting as his past creations.

The movie has a stacked cast, featuring Chis Hemsworth, Cynthia Erivo, Dakota Johnson, Jon Hamm, Katharine Isabelle, Jeff Bridges, Nick Offerman, and Jon Hamm. Bad Times at the El Royale has a John Wick feel to it, and that’s not a bad thing. I hope people don’t dismiss it because of that feeling because this looks bonkers.

With Goddard penning the script and working behind the camera, Bad Times at the El Royale should be a stellar flick. The movie hits theaters Oct. 5.
