Popular U.K. horror festival FrightFest is set to begin its 7th annual event this thursday, and just ahead of the festivities popular streaming service Shudder has announced North American and U.K. acquisitions for six of the titles set to make their U.K. premieres there. Not only does this continue to prove that Shudder is a must-have for genre fans, but it also furthers the trend that the gap between festival circuit and wider release is closing fast.

So if you’re not lucky enough to be attending this year’s FrightFest, worry not; these festival favorites will be available early 2018:

Director: Joe Lynch
Plot Synopsis: Matias Caruso penned the script, which tells the story of a virus that infects a corporate law office on the day attorney Derek Saunders (Yeun) is framed by a co-worker and wrongfully fired. The infection is capable of making people act out their wildest impulses. Trapped in the quarantined building, our hero is forced to savagely fight tooth and nail for not only his job but his life.

Shudder has acquired U.K., U.S., and Ireland streaming rights for this bloody crowd pleaser (review).

Director: Chris Peckover
Plot Synopsis: On a quiet suburban street, a babysitter must defend a twelve-year-old boy from intruders, only to discover it’s far from a normal home invasion.

Shudder is bringing this soon-to-be Christmas classic to U.S. and Canada, and you don’t want to miss this. A festival highlight last year (review), this one shouldn’t be missed.

Director: Stefan Ruzowitzky
Plot Synopsis: Vienna, a woman is witness to a murder in the neighbor apartment. But she is also seen by the murderer, and her life turns upside down as she trys to protect herself. The police won’t help her but one detective gives her shelter…

While we’ll be able to give you the verdict on this one at next month’s Fantastic Fest, audiences in the U.K., Ireland, and U.S. can look forward to this thriller next year.

Director: Graham Skipper
Plot Synopsis: A surreal sci-fi romance wherein a beautiful young woman and strange metaphysical forces threaten the reality of a reclusive video arcade technician, resulting in bizarre biomechanical mutations and a shocking self-realization.

Shudder acquired this sci-fi mind-bender (review) for North America, U.K. and Ireland audiences.

Director: Colin Minihan
Plot Synopsis: In the throes of a zombie apocalypse, a troubled woman from Las Vegas with a dark past finds herself stranded in the desert with a lone and ravenous zombie on her tail.

This unique spin on the zombie sub-genre was recently released in the U.S. on VOD (review), but Shudder will be bringing it to the U.K in early 2018.

Director: Brandon Christensen
Plot Synopsis: Mary, a new mother gives birth to two twins but only one of them is alive. While taking care of her remaining child, Adam, she suspects that something, a supernatural entity, has chosen her child and will stop at nothing to take it from her.

Shudder is bringing this spooky thriller to the U.K. and U.S. While not perfect, it nails its scares (review).
