One of the most fun midnighters out of this year’s SXSW Film Festival was Joe Lynch’s Mayhem; a carnage filled ode to the working man. We sat down with the director at SXSW to learn about what made the film such a blast for everyone involved (interview), including audience goers (review), but the biggest question with festival circuit films remained: when will everyone else get to see it? The answer is, very soon.

Thanks to RLJ Entertainment and Shudder, Mayhem has been acquired for North American distribution.  RLJE will release the film in theaters and on demand sometime in the final quarter of 2017, with the Shudder streaming premiere slated for early 2018. As if you needed another reason to subscribe to the streaming service.

Written by Marias Caruso and directed by Joe Lynch, the film stars Steven Yeun, Samara Weaving, Dallas Mark Roberts, Caroline Chikezie, Mark Stewart Frost, Kerry Fox, Lucy Chappell, and Steven Brand.

After being framed for corporate espionage on the same day that a mysterious virus is unleashed on his company, attorney Derek Cho is forced to savagely fight tooth and nail for not only his job but his life.
