Blood, death, hellish freaks, and an abandoned basement.

Basements are creepy–that’s just the way things are. But when was the last time a horror flick took advantage of the spooky surrounding to maximum effect? I’m not sure, but Laszlo Illes and team are cooking something up that you should be aware of. THE BASEMENT not only blends horror elements such as atmosphere and gore together, but it does so under the watchful eye of a truly international and enthusiastic cast and crew. These are talented filmmakers that are passionate about creating a horror film that feels unique and timeless all at once, but they need a bit of help to finish things up.

These are important things that can, frankly, make or break an indie film…

The film has already completed two successful rounds of crowdfunding, but now the home stretch requires just a little bit more. The team is seeking a modest $3000 in order to finish color grading, a few FX shots, a stellar sound mix, and their opening/closing credit sequences. These are important things that can, frankly, make or break an indie film like this one. If you’ve got a few bucks to spare, shoot over the campaign page to check out their multiple rewards. There’s some good stuff over there.

At the very least, check out the brand new trailer below in order to get a sense of what’s coming, and let us know what you think! For film nerds like me, the fact that it’s filmed in 4K alone should be enough reason to be excited.

A group of international students finds itself in a horrific basement after an enormous house party. It’s been abandoned for decades, but mystery, supernatural monsters, blood, and death awaits them deep within the bowels of the structure . They try to escape at all costs, but every moment becomes worse than the one before it.
