We recently previewed the Midnighter lineup at Austin’s upcoming SXSW, but the festival has more to offer genre fans than that. For those that prefer their horror bite-sized, SXSW is hosting a Midnight Shorts Competition, featuring sex, gore, and humor in fun-size portions.
One of the shorts to be featured in the Midnight Shorts block is Brian Lonano’s Gwilliam. Returning to the fest after screening his short CROW HAND!!! last year, Lonano’s latest is a warped blend of sex, gore, and very dark, demented humor. William Tokarsky, known for playing The Killer in Adult Swim’s Too Many Cooks, stars in this quirky, twisted love story between a man and goblin. It’ll test your gag reflex. Who knew love could be so repulsive?
I know you’re curious, so check out the trailer below. Both Tokarsky and Lonano will be in attendance for the first screening at the fest, March 11th during the 11:30PM-1:07AM Midnight Shorts Block. More information on the Midnight Shorts lineup and additional screenings of Gwilliam can be found here.
