1 year ago, we launched a horror site that aimed to do something different. We wanted to drop the silly naming monikers and cheesy blood-splattered imagery and replace it with something smart, stylish, and respectful. We wanted to review films in a way that provides clear and precise actionable feedback to filmmakers and the team members involved with production. We wanted to spare our readers from every little press release that comes our way – and only share the things that we feel carry weight in our beloved industry. We wanted to host a podcast and create original video content that is fun and exciting with no gimmicks or egos. And perhaps most importantly, we wanted to lay the groundwork for a community of horror fans where everyone has a voice and is treated fairly. A place where intelligent disagreements can happen without shame or flame. We’re so very proud and honored to be supported by the wonderful people we have met and interacted with over the past 12 months. It has been a dream come true to write, record, and film content for each and every one of you.

As a team, we have completely destroyed every single goal we set for ourselves in our first year, and we can’t wait to build upon the relationships and partnerships we have forged next year in 2016. It’s going to be huge, and we hope that if you’re reading this message right now, that you’ll join us.

Whether you’re stumbling across a social media post for the first time, or you’ve been by our sides since we were two dudes with Instagram and a podcast – we appreciate you so very much, and we want your help and feedback to ensure that we are constantly improving and creating something that you want you and your friends to be a part of. Modern Horrors isn’t here to be one of the other guys – we’re here to be THE #1 source for news and multimedia for the modern horror fan – and we’re just getting started.

Thank you, we love you

Luke, Jacob, and the Modern Horrors team.
