The Swinger comes out swinging.

Vince Vaughn is headed for the slammer. Well known from such hits as Swingers, Wedding Crashers, Jurassic Park: The Lost World and Hacksaw Ridge, Vince is the actor you can just imagine yourself hanging out with. Chances are your imaginary bromance isn’t set in jail, but for his next film it will be.

Vaughn will be starring in BRAWL IN CELL BLOCK 99, the sophomore feature from Bone Tomahawk Director, S. Craig Zahler. There’s no trailer yet, but early images and poster tease a Vaughn far, far away from the lively lights of Las Vegas. Playing an every-man auto mechanic who falls way, way in with the wrong crowd, Vaughn brings his past boxing experience to the role, which will help because it seems like fists will be flying. In a recent interview, Zahler foreshadowed some bloody action by saying he wasn’t “in any hurry to get to the brawling, but when you land there, you will know it“.

Joining Vaughn will be Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter, Quarantine) and Marc Blucas (Buff the Vampire Slayer) along with two film and television legends, Udo Kier (Blade) and the Blonde One, Don Johnson (Django Unchained, Miami Vice)

We’ll keep you updated on this fight, but for now check out the cool new poster below. Brawl in Cell Block 99 hits theaters on October 6th with on-demand and digital HD, October 13th. Until then, consider your parole denied.

A former boxer named Bradley loses his job as an auto mechanic, and his troubled marriage is about to expire. At this crossroads in his life, he feels that he has no better option than to work for an old buddy as a drug courier. This vocation improves his situation until the terrible day that he finds himself in a gunfight between a group of police officers and his own ruthless allies. When the smoke clears, Bradley is badly hurt and thrown in prison, where his enemies force him to commit acts of violence that turn the place into a savage battleground.
