Way back in 2015, we reviewed a short film by the name of Devil Makes Work. It was a wildly ambitious short film that blew us away with top-notch performances and a face-melting blend of practical and digital FX. Not long after, writer/director Guy Soulsby checked back in with a look at his latest–God’s Kingdom. Now, after over two years of waiting, you can finally watch the latest from Soulsby and team right here–for free!

God’s Kingdom clocks in at almost 25 minutes, but you wouldn’t know it from watching. Its quiet, yet compelling narrative and expert pacing make it feel like this is something much more than the standard horror short. It’s dripping with a certain quality and atmosphere that you’d be hard-pressed to find anywhere else. We all know that genre producers love turning these things into features, and God’s Kingdom is practically begging for it.

Plot Synopsis:

Jack and Ella travel alone, taking the path less trodden. Dishevelled and dirty they keep away from people, towns and cities, off the grid. They are hiding and on the run, but from what and why?
