During last night’s episode of LEGION, viewers were treated with an unexpected short film that serves as a prequel to the upcoming ALIEN: COVENANT. Dubbed as a “prologue”, the 5 minute introduction paints a clearer picture of what we can expect from the wildly-anticipated feature.

I didn’t need anything else to get me on board, but this brief glimpse makes me feel even more confident that this will be an incredibly well-rounded (and hopefully excellent) piece of genre film. ALIEN: COVENANT follows the 2012 film, PROMETHEUS. In this new feature, members of the Covenant discover what seems to be an undiscovered paradise, but as we saw in earlier trailers, that’s not the case at all.

ALIEN: COVENANT hits theaters on May 19th, 2017. Check out the prologue below:

Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created, with ALIEN: COVENANT, a new chapter in his groundbreaking ALIEN franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.
