Wild Eye Releasing is set to  unleash Morbid on DVD July 21st. So what is it? Well.. here’s a quote from the plot synopsis:

“A small Tennessee town becomes the playground to a sadistic, masked killer.”

Let me be clear – that plot synopsis sounds like fucking gold. There’s nothing I love more than a good ol’ fashioned Slasher. The problem is that it seems to be filmed on my little nephews hand-me-down JVC camcorder from 2001. It doesn’t look good. In fact, I was going to pass on covering Morbid altogether. Then I watched the trailer 4 or 5 more times. As Modern Horrors own Grey puts it : “It does look low budget (understatement), but I can tell it has heart“. I think he’s right. Every now and then, it’s fun just to get a group of friends together and watch some cheesy throwback violence. Morbid could be fun, and I look forward to sharing more in the near future.

Plot Synopsis
In this low budget 80s slasher homage, a small Tennessee town becomes the playground to a sadistic, masked killer. But with the town’s sheriff and locals more worried about the big high school football game than getting to the bottom of the murders, a detective from out of town must rush to save the lives of a group of teens throwing a party in the middle of all the mayhem.”
