Popular festival SXSW, taking place this March 11-19 in Austin, Texas, has announced the world premiere of AMC show Preacher, set to air on television sometime mid-2016. Based on the popular comic series published by Vertigo, the plot centers on a priest tossed into the world of the supernatural when he becomes possessed by an entity named Genesis. AMC is already known for quality programming, but the talented cast and crew solidifies this as one to check out.

Directed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, and stars Dominic Cooper, Ruth Negga, Joseph Gilgun, Ian Colletti, W. Earl Brown, Lucy Griffiths.

Plot Synopsis
Preacher is a supernatural, twisted and darkly comedic drama that follows a West Texas preacher named Jesse Custer, who – along with his ex-girlfriend Tulip and an Irish vagabond named Cassidy – is thrust into a crazy world, much bigger than he is.
