Amityville: The Awakening, which was originally scheduled to release in January 2015, finally has a release date!  APRIL FOOLS!!!!  No, seriously… the movie is now scheduled to hit the big screen on April 1, 2016.  As this is the 764th installment in the Amityville series, it could go either way.  I will say that the cast seems pretty decent, starting with Jennifer Jason Leigh who really turned heads in The Hateful Eight.  Rounding out the cast are Bella Thorne, McKenna Grace, Cameron Monaghan, Taylor Spreitler,  Kurtwood Smith, Thomas Mann, and Jennifer Morrison.  The trailer is still the same one from a year ago, but when Red Foreman (Kurtwood Smith) shows up in something, I tend to get a little excited.  Hopefully we get a new trailer sometime before april, but don’t be fooled… Amityville: The Awakening is finally coming!

Belle, her little sister, and her comatose twin brother move into a new house with their single mother Joan in order to save money to help pay for her brother’s expensive healthcare. But when strange phenomena begin to occur in the house including the miraculous recovery of her brother, Belle begins to suspect her Mother isn’t telling her everything and soon realizes they just moved into the infamous Amityville house.
