A mother desperate to reconnect with her daughter becomes entangled in an urban legend involving a demonic witch. Starring Katee Sackhoff, Lucy Boyton, and Javier Botet, this film also happens to be paired with a supplemental VR game. We can definitely expect a creepy witch with Javier Botet involved ([Rec], Mama, The Conjuring 2), and the introduction of Russian urban legends already makes this release noteworthy.

You know the drill by now: someone winds up watching a cursed tape and has 7 days to inflict that tape upon someone else lest a creepy, well-dwelling ghost crawls out to kill them. Paramount has moved the release date for this title multiple times, so not sure what exactly that says about the final product, but the trailer looks well done. Vincent D’Onofrio looks wasted as a bored guy relaying exposition, but hey! Vincent D’Onofrio! The film also stars Johnny Galecki, Laura Wiggins, and Aimee Teegarden. (trailer)

Whether it’s being called Stake Land 2 or The Stakelander, who cares? We just need more Martin and Mister adventures in our lives, please. And boy does the next chapter in their story look great (trailer). The film aired on SyFy in conjunction with its TIFF premiere, but it’s a forgone conclusion that the SyFy airing cut out some good bits. Rejoice fans, we get to watch another nasty battle between our favorite vampire slayers and the evil Brotherhood.

Gore Verbinski marks his long-awaited return to horror with this big budget creep-fest that sees a young executive sent on a mission to retrieve the company’s CEO from a very strange wellness center where things are not as they seem. Starring Dane DeHaan, Jason Isaacs, and Mia Goth, the trailer is a visual onslaught of weird, eerie, and beautiful. Early buzz says we can expect Verbinski to bring the gross and the gore. An all-female horror anthology featuring segments from Karyn Kusama, Annie Clark, Roxanne Benjamin, and Jovanka Vuckovic. To be released during Women in Horror month, no less. Each segment will star female leads, as well. This is an anthology that’s been a long time in the making, with each director having been given free creative reign. Which means that these ladies are going balls to the walls with the horror. And we can’t wait.

Notable comic Jordan Peele has been a long-time fan of horror, and now he’s about to prove it with his own horror film. The plot sees a young African American visiting his Caucasian girlfriend’s family the first time, but the estate is a bit cursed. Have you seen the trailer? It looks absolutely insane. What the hell is happening? We have no idea, but we need to find out. Go ahead and check it out, I’ll wait here. (trailer)
