Steven DeGennaro’s Found Footage 3D is one of the first films Modern Horrors had the pleasure of covering when we burst onto the scene over three years ago. At the time, it was nothing more than a hopeful team of creatives that had turned to crowdfunding to make their dream a reality. When the news came of Shudder acquiring the film as an original, we were beyond thrilled for all involved. It’s since been available to stream on the platform for quite some time, but as I’m sure you’ll agree, there’s nothing quite like owning something you love on physical media.

Found Footage 3D, a film that I personally called “deliciously self-aware” in our formal review, is finally hitting Blu-Ray and DVD on September 4th. It even comes with a pair of retro 3D glasses! Don’t worry; though, 3D is not a requirement for this one–but I certainly recommend it.

When he’s hired to document the behind-the-scenes action of the ultra-low-budget horror movie Spectre of Death (“the first 3D found-footage horror film”), an aspiring filmmaker packs up his camera and travels with the film’s crew to a creepy cabin in the woods. But, when the fictional evil presence from their film begins appearing in his behind-the-scenes footage, he has to figure out how to stop it before it finds its way into the real world.
