Director André Øvredal’s follow up to 2010’s Trollhunters has caused a massive frenzy in the film festival circuit.  It’s been one of the most buzzed about films, and for good reason.  The intense supernatural thriller is actually really, really creepy.  Our review from TIFF not only touches on just how scary the film is, but how graphic the titular autopsy can get (review).  Which is exactly what the latest red band trailer teases, so don’t watch this at work.

Written by Ian Goldberg and Richard Naing and starring Emile Hirsch and Brian Cox, The Autopsy of Jane Doe also costars Olwen Kelly, Michael McElhatton, and Ophelia Lovibond.

The film is scheduled for theatrical and VOD release on December 21, 2016.

Cox and Hirsch play father and son coroners who receive a mysterious homicide victim with no apparent cause of death. As they attempt to identify the beautiful young “Jane Doe,” they discover increasingly bizarre clues that hold the key to her terrifying secrets.
