I love Slasher films...

I’m sure you’ve heard me say that countless times, but the truth is: I haven’t had a lot to love over the past several years. Slasher flicks are at what could be considered an all-time low with only a handful of features standing out over the last decade or so. Recent attempts like Most Likely To Die and Lost After Dark have made efforts to recapture the spirit of the 1980s, but both ultimately come up short. So perhaps the rejuvenation of my favorite subgenre lies not in the past, but in the future. Maybe we should give up on trying to recreate what worked in the past and focus on setting a new standard. Maybe Glenn Douglas Packard’s PITCHFORK is exactly the shot in the arm that slasher films need.

Packard is an Emmy-nominated choreographer (something you don’t get every day in Slasher flicks), and if the debut teaser is to believed, we’re in for some rather grisly violence and some surprisingly chilling dialog. Not much is shown, but most of what we see is promising. Check it out for yourselves and let us know what you think!

We’ll keep you posted on release details as news comes our way.

Having recently shared a life-changing secret with his family, Hunter recruits his friends to come with him from New York to the farm where he grew up as he faces his parents for the first time. As the college students enjoy the fresh air of Michigan farm country, an older, more dangerous secret slowly emerges. While Hunter navigates a new place within his conservative family, a vicious creature from their past descends on the farm, putting the unsuspecting city kids in mortal danger.
