As we’re nearing the end of May, we’re that much closer to the July 1st theatrical release of the latest installment of Blumhouse’s popular franchise.  To keep us pumped, Universal has released a new trailer.  There’s more violence, more action, and more tongue-in-cheek patriotic humor.  Of course the best part is simply more Frank Grillo.

The Purge 3: Election Year is directed by James DeMonaco and produced by returning producers Blumhouse Productions’ Jason Blum, and Platinum Dunes partners Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form.

Will you be checking in for the annual purge this July?

It’s been two years since Leo Barnes (Frank Grillo) stopped himself from a regrettable act of revenge on Purge Night. Now serving as head of security for Senator Charlie Roan (Elizabeth Mitchell), his mission is to protect her in a run for president and survive the annual ritual that targets the poor and innocent. But when a betrayal forces them onto the streets of D.C. on the one night when no help is available, they must stay alive until dawn…or both be sacrificed for their sins against the state.
