Admit it. You snickered a little when you heard that Seann William Scott (American Pie, Goon) was starring in a horror movie. Known primarily for his comedic roles, Scott takes on an entirely new persona for Bloodline. The brief two minute spot follows Scott viciously doling out vengeance on behalf of beaten and neglected children.

It seems that the pressures of his job as a social worker, compounded with starting his own family, take their toll on the lead character, Evan (Scott). Unable to process the abuse that he encounters, it appears that Evan begins taking matters into his own hands.

“It was so great to work on a character with so many dimensions,” said Scott.

The feature-length debut from director Henry Jacobson looks gritty, violent, and remarkably polished thanks, in part, to a host of experienced producers including Jason Blum. Jacobson teamed up on the script with first-time writer Avra Fox-Lerner, and Will Honley (The Hive). The storyline seems fairly straightforward from the trailer, but the title and synopsis, below, hint at a provocative twist in the works involving Evan’s own family.

Bloodline will feature at the upcoming Popcorn Frights Film Festival, and is scheduled to be released September 20, 2019.

Plot Synopsis:

Evan (Seann William Scott) values family above all else, and anyone who gets between him, his wife, and newborn son learns that the hard way. But when it comes to violent tendencies, it seems the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
