After the multitude of twists and turns that have plagued the latest HALLOWEEN film for years, no one could have guessed that we’d end up here. It all started when Blumhouse productions assembled a small group of journalists in their home office for a special announcement. Considering that this is Blumhouse we’re talking about, the news could have ranged anywhere from a 127th Paranormal Activity film to a giant monster movie with James Wan. In my opinion, this far surpasses a giant monster movie with James Wan… and barely squeaks out Paranormal Activity 127… I suppose.

Regardless–production juggernaut Jason Blum took to the stage to announce–whatever it was that everyone was gathered around for. He started talking about his partners Miramax and Malek Akaad (son of the original HALLOWEEN producer and producer of H20 and the two remake entrys). Maybe the writing was on the wall at this point. A new HALLOWEEN movie from Blumhouse is a big deal, no doubt, but that wasn’t the big reveal. The big reveal? John mother fucking Carpenter will be on board as a producer–working hand in hand with the director to ensure the spirit is kept alive.

John made it no secret that he felt the series had lost its way for a very long time. “So… I decided, after bitching for years and years about Halloween sequels, I would come aboard and shepherd this thing. I’ll help, support the director, and since I’m here with Malek Akkad, and the horror superstar Jason Blum, what could go wrong? So, we’re going to give it a try.” Carpenter said.

THIS IS HUGE!

Blum went on record stating that he hopes to have Carpenter provide the musical composition for the film as well, and we all know that John has really been feeling the music as of late. No word on release details, if it’s a sequel , a reboot, or anything else. “We just don’t know yet.” gatherers were told.So while we wait for more concrete information, have areas over the official press release that sets all of this in stone! What do you think? Are you on board for a Blumhouse/Carpenter HALLOWEEN?
