Based on the Skybound/Image comic title by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman and artist Paul Azaceta, this adaptation follows Kyle Barnes (Patrick Fugit), a man plagued by demonic possession his entire life.  The 10 episode series will follow Barnes on his journey to regain a normal life, and Kirkman promises this adaptation will be far scarier than The Walking Dead.outcast

Ok, so more of a comedic-thriller than outright horror, but the new series follows a young, fresh-faced Hill staffer (played by badass final girl Mary Elizabeth Winstead) getting her first job in Washington, D.C. and discovering two things: The government has stopped working, and alien spawn have come to earth and eaten the brains of a growing number of Congressmen and Hill staffers. Bug-like aliens. Eating brains. Ick.BrainDead

It’s the 1980s, school is out for the summer, and when Camp Clearwater’s dark, ancient mythology awakens, what was supposed to be a summer of fun soon turns into one of unforgettable scares and evil at every turn. Though this show might be a Friday the 13th type series for a younger audience, it’s full of genre heavyweights. Look for Candyman himself, Tony Todd, to make an on screen appearance. Tremors director Ron Underwood and master of horror Mick Garris pop in to direct a few of the first season’s episodes. Not only is this a perfect summer show, but it’s perfect for exposing a younger generation to our beloved genre.Dead of summer Freeform
